The Things You're Probably Wondering

Do I need to already be a runner to join?

No. The Starting Block is specifically designed to build your base from wherever you are right now. If you can run or run-walk for 20–30 minutes, you're ready. If you can already run a 5K, we'll focus in on speed work and strength. Strong to the Start Line is focused on half or full marathon training however can incorporate or plan around intervals.

What race distance is this designed for?

The Starting Block is the base-building phase for mamas training for a fall half marathon or full marathon. The mileage progression is designed to safely prepare you for the demands of either distance when you move into formal race training in July. All training plans will be focused around the 5K distance. Strong to the Start Line will be focused on half or full marathon training only.

Do I have to attend the Starting Block in-person sessions at Highbanks?

The two Highbanks sessions (June 20 + July 18, 8am) are included in your registration and we'd love to see you there — they're some of the most valuable parts of the program. If you genuinely can't make one, we'll work with you. But plan to be there if at all possible.

What if I miss a week or have to skip a run?

Life happens — and this program is built for the reality of mom life. Missing a run is not a failure. Your coach will help you adjust when things come up. The goal is consistency over perfection, always.
